A 26-year-old motorist was taken into custody after he injured several people on Times Square earlier today.
Police say, the driver, who has two prior DWI’s drove his maroon Honda the wrong way up Seventh Avenue for up to three blocks, jumping the crub and hitting several people before crashing into a pole at 45th Street and Broadway.The driver then got out of the vehicle and tried to run away. He punched a police officer but was eventually taken down. He’s suspected of driving while impaired.
One person died at the scene. Twelve others are reportedly injured. Police sources say, three of the injured people are in critical condition.
