The Nation gathered that the suspect will be docked before an Ebute-Metta Magistrates’ Court.

Although it could not be ascertained if he will be charged for alleged murder, manslaughter or assault, our correspondent gathered from a source that the police had established a case against him.

Meanwhile, the deceased’s family has refused to comment on the result of the autopsy, just as a source hinted that preparations were on for her burial.

Ronke’s sister, Bolatito Biwaji, who has been speaking on behalf of the family since the unfortunate incident of May 5, said on Thursday that they were not ready to comment.

Asked if it was true the family has decided against pressing charges against Shonde, an angry Bolatito denied vehemently.

“That is a lie. Who said that we are not interested? Please, I do not want to comment on anything. We do not want to talk about it. We have not fixed burial date yet. Please, respect my decision. I am not going to talk,” she said.

When contacted, the state’s Police Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni, confirmed that the suspect will be charged to court on Friday but refused to give further details.

“When you come to court on Friday, you will know the charges against him. I will not tell you anything about the autopsy because that information is for the court,” he said.
