Mike and Heather Martin, the parents behind the popular Daddy Of Five YouTube channel (72,000 subscribers), have reportededly lost custody of two children following a prank that went viral.
Maryland’s Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, Baltimore County Police Department and Office of Child Protective Services are all investigating the family after videos of the Martins show them screaming profanities at their children, breaking their toys, punching, pushing and slapping them in the name of “pranking.”
According to the Martin’s YouTube channel, the scenarios are all fake.
“Please keep in mind videos are fake and are being acted out. Our videos are for entertainment purposes only no child was harmed in the making of our videos,” the page reads.
However, the biological mother of two of the couple’s youngest children, ages 9 and 11, doesn’t believe this and has been granted emergency custody of her children.
Reportedly Rose Hall, the mother of the two youngest children, lives in North Carolina and hadn’t seen her children since 2015. She calls the viral videos “heartbreaking” to watch.
“This has been the absolute worst week of our life and we realize that we have made some terrible parenting decisions and we just want to make things right,”
Heather Martin says.
“I do agree that we put things on the internet that should not be there,” Mike Martin added. “We did do things that we should not do.”
