Jamie Foxx Says Oprah Gave Him An Intervention

At the time of his Academy Award winning role in the Ray Charles biopic, Jamie Foxx reveals that it was ‘Queen O’ herself who stepped in and saved him from some bad habits. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In a recent interview on “The Howard Stern Show”, the comedian confessed to excessively drinking and partying which resulted in Oprah staging an intervention for him.
Foxx tells the story of how Oprah called him and gave it to him straight, saying,

“All of this gallivanting and all this kind of s**t that’s not what you want to do. I want to take you somewhere.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Oprah held the intervention at the legendary Quincy Jones’ house where Sidney Poitier and other iconic, black actors were present. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Foxx says it was that moment that he was forced to change his ways for the better and take on more responsibility. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Jamie eventually went on to win the Best Actor Oscar for “Ray” that year.
