Bob Saget’s family has filed for an injunction in order to prevent more details about his cause of death being made public. This is coming after autopsy revealed head trauma so severe it ‘was like he was hit with a baseball bat’
Recall that, Bob Saget, 65, was found dead in his hotel room at The Ritz-Carlton hotel in Orlando after a stand-up show on January 9. On February 9, his family said he died of head trauma, adding he “accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it, and went to sleep”.
On February 11, the chief medical examiner of Orange and Osceola counties in Florida reported that Bob Saget suffered severe skull fractures. Medical experts said the report showed far more significant injuries than a bump to the head, with injuries consistent with being hit by a baseball bat.
We are expecting the Bob family to begin investigation right away, but it turns out to be the other way round. On Tuesday Saget’s family filed a lawsuit to block the release of records from the investigation of his sudden death.
Saget’s widow, food blogger Kelly Rizzo, 42, and his his three daughters whom he shared with ex-wife Sherri Kramer, petitioned to stop the release of further information about his death.
The family sought an injunction against the medical examiner’s office and the Orange County Sheriff. In order to prevent the release of any records that includes photographs, videos, audio recordings, and statutorily protected autopsy information related to his death.
The injunction states according to a copy obtained by ABC News; “Plaintiffs will suffer irreparable harm in the form of extreme mental pain, anguish, and emotional distress, if Defendants release the Records in response to public records requests or otherwise disseminate the Records for any other reason or purpose”.
Report has it that, Bob Saget was also COVID-19 positive when he died. But, it did not play a role in his death. CNN’s chief medical correspondent, neurosurgeon Dr. Sanjay Gupta also said, “I think what it reveals more than anything else is, this was not a simple bump on the head”.
A graphic depicted by CNN highlights the bones in Saget’s head, that were cited as being fractured. This includes a stretch of bone from the front of his skull to his front temporal bone, and to fractures above his eye sockets.
