Grammy winner, Burna Boy took to Instagram to mourn the late Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton & Off-White founder, Virgil Abloh. Apparently, Burna and Virgil Abloh were working on his new album together and Virgil was meant to be the Creative Director of the album.
“Me, @Ronami and @VirgilAbloh spent hours on the phone talking about the creative direction for the next album,” Burna Boy wrote
“We should have been talking about how he was doing. He seemed so full of life. He was supposed to be the creative director of my next album. I don’t even know where to start now. RIP you Legend”.
Virgil Abloh who died yesterday, 28th November, had been battling a rare form of cancer for the pass two years, cardiac angiosarcoma, he was also the artistic director of Louis Vuitton (the first black African to hold such a position) and the founder of Off-White, a fashion brand he started in 2012. He also worked with lots of black musicians like Kanye West and some African stars like Burna Boy
Off-White was just recently acquired by LVMH in July this year, they purchase 60% of the brand shares.
