Devin Burns and Joshua Taylor named in Dolph’s Murder Case

Devin Burns, 26, and Joshua Taylor, 26, have been named as persons of interest in rapper Young Dolph’s murder case.

They are currently wanted by Memphis Police, with a $2,000 reward set for each arrest.

In 2005, Devin Burns was previously charged with an attempted first-degree murder, possession of a firearm, and aggravated robbery. He also has active warrants for his arrest, according to ABC 24.

In November 17, two men were charged for the death outside Makeda’s Homemade Cookies in South Memphis.


As at last month, 23-year-old Justin Johnson and 32-year-old Cornelius Smith were charged with first-degree murder, an attempted first-degree murder, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, employment of a firearm, and theft of property over $10,000. They pleaded not guilty to Dolph’s murder. 


Shundale Barnett, was arrested alongside Johnson and has been charged with being an accessory after allegedly helping Johnson flee to Indiana, and a criminal attempt to commit first-degree murder.

He was later released from custody on Jan. 21 and Clay County Sheriff Paul Harden shared that Barnett had then gone missing. 

“Jan. 11, Mr. Shundale Barnett was brought to Clay County Jail by the Indiana State Police from an arrest on I-70.

Harden said, He was booked in the Clay County Jail on an outstanding warrant from Shelby County, Tennessee.”

“We contacted Shelby County and held him on their warrant. We were contacted on Jan. 21 and we were told that they were no longer wanting to come and pick up Mr. Barnett and we were to release him at that time.” 

Young Dolph, whose real name was Adolph Thornton Jr., was shot and killed outside of Makeda’s Homemade Cookies in South Memphis on Nov. 17, 2021.
