Frank Ocean dad Calvin Cooksey sued his son for $14.5 million after claiming that he had defamed him in a story Frank recalled from his childhood, earlier this year.
Frank recalled his father calling a waitress a “f****t as he dragged him out of a neighborhood diner. Cooksey claimed that Frank’s story cost him financial opportunities in music and film.
Today, a judge ruled in favor of Frank, citing that Cooksey had no solid proof of defamation. Franks’s attorneys relayed to TMZ that they are happy with the judge’s ruling.
“It was a sad case, but we are glad that it ended in Frank’s favor and that it is over,”‘ they said in a statement.
