Prince Andrew, the second son of Queen Elizabeth II, has settled a lawsuit brought by Ms. Virginia Giuffre on Tuesday, in a new court filing in Manhattan.

Ms. Giuffre was the woman who had accused him of raping her when she was a teenage victim of his friend, the notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Report has it that 61 year old Andrew, will pay Ms. Giuffre a certain amount but the amount is confidential, the parties said in a joint statement attached to the filing.

Andrew also “intends to make a substantial donation” to a charity “in support of victims’ rights,” the statement says. We are guessing that this a way to clear his name.

Although, Andrew never admitted to any of Ms. Giuffre’s accusations against him in the statement announcing the settlement.

So here is what was in the law suit filed against Prince Andrew; In the lawsuit, Ms. Giuffre claimed that Andrew, known as the Duke of York, sexually abused her at Mr. Epstein’s mansion in Manhattan when she was a Minor. It also claimed that Andrew, Mr. Epstein and his longtime companion, Ghislaine Maxwell, had forced her to have sexual intercourse with Andrew at Ms. Maxwell’s home in London. She had feared repercussions if she disobeyed the three of them because of “their powerful connections, wealth and authority,” the lawsuit said.

Recall also that this lawsuit by Ms. Giuffre, had cast a shadow over the royals at a time when Queen Elizabeth, 95-year-old British monarch, was marking her 70th year on the throne.

This issues forced Andrew to relinquish his military titles and royal charities, no longer was he to use the title “His Royal Highness,” and he was “not to undertake any public duties,” which was issued in a statement last month by Buckingham Palace.

Ultimately, the financial settlement, which was announced in a federal court filing in Manhattan on Tuesday, were not revealed. However, Prince Andrew did not admit guilt in the settlement.

Mr. Epstein,66-year-old was found dead in August 2019 in a Manhattan jail cell while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

On the other hand, Ms. Maxwell, 60-year-old, was convicted of sex trafficking and other counts in a trial in December.

More updates to come on this matter.
