Six People Shot and 1 fatally Killed at Philadelphia Graduation Party.

On June 16, 2019, six people were shot at a graduation party that took place in a park in Southwest Philadelphia neighbourhood and one of them was killed. This happened shortly after 10pm on a dead end street.

Earlier, Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross gave reporters slightly larger numbers, saying four adults in their twenties suffered gunshot wounds, none of them life-threatening, in addition to the four juveniles.

According to one of the detectives, a 24 year old was shot in the back and died after being brought to the hospital hospital. In addition, a 21-year-old was hit in the elbow and a 15 year old, 16 year old and two 17 year olds were hit in their legs.

Richard Ross said there were about eight or nine gunshots fired that night. He said there were three men spotted in a parking lot when one of them walked up to the celebration and began firing into the crowd. No arrest has made so far.

There was no word on what prompted the shooting. There was no indication of any sort of trouble in the area beforehand, Ross said, adding that police were concerned about retaliation and planned to step up patrols.

The shooting culminated another weekend filled with gun violence in Philadelphia, CBS Philly said. More than a dozen people were shot since late Friday night before the graduation party, in nearly every pocket of Philadelphia, even on I-76.
